Project description

Based on the ‘closed-loop’ approach to resource management, HTAU prepared a Model for Sustainable Living for the Dalmia Bharat Group for all its townships. Based on 4 essential goals - enhanced quality of life, lower carbon footprint, sense of identity and pride, and health, happiness and well-being, the model brings togethe together six essential interrelated and inter-dependent strands instrumental in determining the social and environmental value of a settlement:

  1. A responsive built environment

  2. A Sustainable Transport Strategy

  3. A rich and varied working landscape Structure

  4. A sustainable Water management strategy

  5. An efficient Waste Management Strategy

  6. Green energy initiatives

With the community at its core, these six strands come together to create a model that explores alternative yet pragmatic solutions for how a township works and is managed.
